A post was made on the Facebook page of His Holiness about the Qamishli terrorist attack.
"We learned with deep sorrow about the terrorist attack that took place on November 11 in the settlement of Qamishli in Syria, as a result of which the pastor of the Armenian Catholic community, Rev. Fr. Hovsep Petoyan and his father, as well as the deacon accompanying them, was wounded.
There can be no justification for such a crime. The 21st century must be a time when there is no alternative to the peaceful coexistence of different nations and religions around the world, so that both past and present crimes can be judged fairly for the sake of a peaceful and creative life.
Strongly condemning any criminal encroachment on God-created life, we offer our prayers to Heavenly Lord, for the peace and tranquility of Fr. Hovsep Petoyan and his father's souls, we extend our condolences to their family members, as he wishes the wounded deacon a speedy recovery," stated the message of the Patriarch of All Armenians.
