First Candlelight Divine Liturgy of Holy Nativity was held in St. Gayane Monastery by the presidency of the Armenian Pontiff. According to the tradition, the first House Blessing ceremony of the year is held at the Residence of Catholicos. Hundreds of believers came to the largest church of Yerevan - St. Grigor Lusavorich Cathedral to attend festive Candlelight Divine Liturgy. The Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan attended the Candlelight Divine Liturgy held at Yerevan St. St. Sarkis Cathedral. After the Divine Liturgy at Meghradzor Holy Mother of God Church, the local children rushed their homes despite the cold and their exhaustion to go from house to house to pass the lantern and the good tiding of Christmas.
