In the USA, His Holiness Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, bestowed the title and Pontifical Medal of "Knight of Holy Etchmiadzin" to national philanthropists Nazar and Artemis Nazarians.
The Supreme Patriarch presided over the placing of the relic of Saint Hovhannes Mkrtich in the Reliquary Cross, which will be moved to St. Hovhannes Church built in Abovyan.

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, delivered amessage on Victory Day and Liberation of Shushi.

On May 9, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Feast of Ascension of Christ. DivineLiturgy was served in the Mother Cathedral.

In 1441, the Patriarchal See was moved from Sis to Holy Etchmiadzin and since then wasreinstated there. This event is also commemorated on the Feast of Ascension.

On May 9, the clergy of the Armenian Church laid flowers on the Memorial to the UnknownSoldier in the Victory Park.

The students of the Etchmiadzin Armenian Youth Center staged a performance dedicated to the Feast of Ascension.
