On May 25, the 27th joint meeting of the Board of Trustees of Hayastan All Armenian Fund and its local bodies was held, which was conducted by the President of Armenia, the President of the Board of Trustees Armen Sargsyan. The meeting was attended by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the President of Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan and other officials.
On May 24, the Catholicos of All Armenians and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia had a meeting. Nikol Pashinyan expressed his gratitude to Karekin II mentioning that the message of His Holiness on peace and tolerance helped to ensure peaceful solution of the recent internal political tensions.
On May 24, a meeting of priests was held in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Approximately 200 priests arrived in Etchmiadzin with their Diocesan Primates. Before the commencement of the meeting, the priests headed by the Armenian Patriarch attended a Divine Liturgy in the Mother Cathedral followed by a Repose of Souls for Gevork V Surenyats Catholicos at his grave.
The Annual Assembly of the Armenian Diocese of Canada was held on May 18-20, 2018 with the delegates from parishes across Canada. Parish delegates also celebrated 50th anniversary of the host - St. Vartan Armenian Church parish. On this historic occasion, Queen Elizabeth II proclaimed May the 20th of 2018 the Armenian Heritage Day. Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada, on behalf of the Government of Canada, extended greetings to the Assembly participants and expressed wishes of success.
Recently, another apartment was purchased in Vanadzor within the scope of the program “Extend Your Hand to Your Brother” with the support of “Homeland Union” Charity Foundation, USA. The family of Ara Shekoyan became the owner of the 21st flat.
On May 25 the last bell tolled in the schools of Armenia and Artsakh. For the graduates of Arabkir community schools N 82 and 128, the day was commenced from the backyard of the newly-constructed Church. They came to receive blessing, pray for the achievement of their goals and dreams before their last lesson.
The academic year is finalized across all Armenian Church Youth Center. All the Centers hold open classes, concerts and exhibitions. The students of the Folk Ensemble “Haykazunk” of Nork Armenian Church Youth Center are excited about their final end-year concert.
The Ministry of Culture signed a memorandum on the joint activities of the state and private structures to strengthen, rehabilitate and improve the territory of the Church of Srbots Arakelots at Karenis village of Kotayk marz. The document was signed by the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Arev Samuelyan and Armen Baghdasaryan, Head of Karenis Community of Kotayk Marz.
