Median Day (Mijink) symbolizes that the first half of Great Lent has passed. It is not considered to be a feast and it does not interrupt the fasting. The mijink gata is also of Lent. Median Day ordinances symbolize the joy of the faithful who have reached the middle of the Great Lent period of repentance, seeking strength and ability to spend the rest of their days.
