Contemporary Perspectives of Bible Translation and Interpretation


On the initiative of the Bible Society of Armenia, a Conference on the "Contemporary Perspectives of Bible Translation and Interpretation" was held in the Mother See. Both Armenian and foreign scientists and researchers attended the Conference.

Komitas Complete Library is Presented for the First Time


On September 24, within the framework of the Days of European Heritage and the Day of European Languages, in cooperation with the Museum of Literature and Art, the exhibition entitled “Komitas Library: Literature in European Languages” was opened at the Komitas Museum-Institute. The lost part of the library of Archimandrite has been restored based on the memoirs and documents of contemporaries.

Head Chaplain of Armenian Armed Forces Visited Artsakh


From September 26 to 29, on the occasion of the 1st year anniversary of the 44-day War of Artsakh,  Rev. Fr. Archimandrite Movses Sargsyan, Head Chaplain of Armenian Armed Forces; visited Arsakh. Archimandrite Movses Sargsyan visited different military units of the Defense Army, met with the soldiers and their commanders, offered a Requiem Services at the memorials erected in memory of the fallen soldiers.

The eagles of Syunik. Books dedicated to Rev. Fr. Archbishop Nerses Melik-Tangyan and Nikoghayos Adonts have been published


On the occasion of Rev. Fr. Archbishop Nerses Melik-Tangyan's 155th anniversary and 150th anniversary of Byzantine scholar, Armenologist, historian, philologist Nikoghayos Adonts, books dedicated to them were presented at the Vache and Tamar Manukyan Matenadaran of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Nun Tatevik Danielyan entered her eternal rest


On September 12, due to the Coronavirus disease, the nun of the Armenian Church, Tatevik Danielyan, entered her eternal rest. Sister Tatevik will be buried in Ghazaravan priory.

A church is being built in Hovtashen community of Masyatsotn diocese


Since 2012, the construction works have been intermittent. Hovtashen is a small village with a modest capacity, with a population of 1,200, but the church is built with the donation of the whole community. The Tufashen Basilica church will be named after St. Bartholomew.

National instruments were played in the yard of St. Karapet Monastery on the Feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross


In the past, people celebrated national and church feasts in the courtyards of monasteries and churches, accompanied by folk songs and dances.  On the initiative of the Primate of the Diocese of Masyatsotn, Bishop Gevork Saroyan, he brings to life this forgotten tradition. On the Feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross, folk instruments are played in the yard of St. Karapet Monastery in Moshaghbyur.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh met with the Patriarch of All Armenians


On September 10, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Artsakh Republic, David Babayan in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting with the participants of the International Conference on "Religious Freedom and Peace" in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, expressed hope that the reports and discussions presented by religious leaders and leading scholars from different countries will contribute to freedom, peace and restoration of justice in our region and protection of human rights.

Inquiry about the destruction of toy weapons at the "Eurnekian" School


A survey was conducted at the "Eurnekian" secondary school. "Allow children to play with toy guns or not."  About 400 students from 5th to 12th grades took part in the survey. The vast majority of students in Armenia consider it necessary to use toy weapons as long as defense issues are a priority for Armenia.

Blessing of the Grapes- Feast of Assumption


The "Vark Hayots" traditional song and dance group collected fresh grapes from Tavush and celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God with the locals in the village of Achajur. The young people went to Makaravank to make a pilgrimage to celebrate the Blessing of the Grapes with national songs, games and dances.  Watch the movie, get to know and participate in the People's feast of Blessing of the Grapes.
