Support to Syrian Armenians

The war which broke in March, 2011, shattered the normal lives of Armenians too, living in Syria. Around 70 thousand Armenians reside in Syria, or used to reside, before the break of civil war. Approximately 7000 Syrian Armenians immigrated to Armenia for the last year, of which over 90% found shelter in Yerevan. Most of them needed house, food, essential supplies, education and job. In response to the needs of immigrants, the World Council of Churches, Inter-Church Round Table Foundation of Armenia initiated "Rapid Support to Syrian Refugees in Armenia" project. The film tells about the program implemented with the support of "Action by Churches Together for Development" Act Alliance.

Power and Honor

It's been over 15 years since we have spiritual servants serving in all military units of Armenia, in compliance with the Agreement signed between the Government of Armenia and Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. It is a common knowledge that often inter-personal relationships get tense in the Armed Forces and the soldiers have difficulties in adapting to new environment. The priests serving in the Army help them overcome the hardships of army life. They teach History of Armenian Church and organize pilgrimages. The number of soldiers baptized in the Army is big, where they were introduced to and participated in the Feasts of Armenian Church.

Godfather of the Cross

In Mayravank, the Godfather for the Water Blessing following the Chritmas Mass, was Sen Srevshatyan. The academician recalls his feelings at the tabernacle of Holy Church, the attatitude his family had for the Church and the clergy, his secret baptism and its overall impact on his future life and profession. What are the principal stops of on one's way as he/she makes through life, what is happiness and what does the renown and favorite scientist dream about?

The Spirit of our Fathers

The Battle of Avarayr is not just a mere memory. It walked along Armenians throughout the course of history, provided newer energy and served as an example of patriotism, which was made apparent during the Artsakh war. The film "The Spirit of our Fathers" addresses the importance of the Battle of Avarayr in historical, political, ethical, spiritual sense.

Why Vardanank (the Vardsns) specifically became a symbol in the wars faught for the sake of faith and the Homeland? How could people compare the Vardans for centuries compare with its present time, what is the modern perception of the Vardan commanders? These are the main issues discussed by the literary critics Vazgen Safaryan, Vardan Devrikyan, historians Petros Hovhannisyan, as well as Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, a military Armenak Avagyan.

Candle Lighting

Candle lighting is the most godly traditions of our Church. Many attribute a supernatural power to lighting candle. Fr. Adam Makaryan, a priest from Holy Etchmiadzin, tells about the origination of the tradition of candle lighting candles and its present role for a believer.

Siran Atabekyan

The hero of the program, Siran, is fully blind. Due to the economic state of Armenia caused after its independence, she lost her job and became completely isolated. Regular quarrels invoked in the family drew her to a mental crisis and Siran found herself in psychiatric hospital. As she said, the decision to meet a priest was made instantaneously. And the meeting turned to be crucial. The priest helped her begin a new life. At present, Siran is one of the active community members of Saint Mariane Church of Ashtarak.

Anush Gevorgyan

The young hero of the program left for Russia, then as a student fell under bad influences. After a failed marriage and lose of child she returns Armenia.
Mental disbalance, two attempts of suicide, serious health issues.... Anush decided to turn to a priest for help hoping to get rid of the pursit of her past...
The heroine herself tells her story in the film.

Hovhannes Yeranyan

Hovhannes Yeranyan, writer publicist, confesses that for many years he considered himself a believer and never made an effort to see another person as one of his like. He believes that anyone can change. He says that he personally has changed and he believes that other people can change too. He considers his 'craft' -- literature, as a service.
Many of his articles and reviews on literature, theatre and cinema were published both in Armenian, as well as in Diaspora media.
He is the author of four prose collections -- "Sole Foot-print" (1999), "Ceasefire" (2005), "Census" (2008) and "The Most Beautiful Hit" (2010).

Davit Muradyan

Davit Muradyan, writer, film expert, spent his childhood in the outdoors of St. Zoravor Church as his grandfather, his mother's dad, was the last chimer of St. Katoghike Church. He still remembers the numerous questions he was asking on the roads of his childhood holding his mother's hand. Later, he tries to find the answers in the literature, music and painting, in the internal fight with false soviet values.
However, some questions are still left unanswered and he's looking for answers up to day, even while thinking about the title of the TV series ''God in Me''.

Davit Minasyan

Davit Minasyan is known to many as the sculptor of nowadays' statutes "The Men"', "The Yard-Keeper", "The Musician", "Man of the World", located in Yerevan.For many, he is a man of theatre -set designer in 'Hamazgayin' State Theatre, lecturer of State Institute of Theatre and Cinema.
In our film Davit Minasyan is presented to us with his two complimentary professions. As he says, "one should always remember that he walks on the earth that has been walked by Beethoven, Hrant Matevosyan".And the huge responsibility for family and world, to him, is the key formula to find God in his self.
