Spendiaryan is the largest cultural foundation aiming at presenting the Armenian opera art abroad, to create new performances and assist them. State Dance Art College of Yerevan is 90 years old


On the occasion of the jubilee, the students of the college presented second act of one of the most beautiful New Year fairy-tale “The Nutcracker” (Shelkunchik) in A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theatre. The jubilee concert was attended by the Armenian and European ballet stars.

Symphonic Orchestra of Opera and Ballet Theatre in Artsakh


On September 28, Symphonic Orchestra of Opera and Ballet Theatre after A. Spendiaryan played Gandzasar Symphony on the backyard of Gandzasar Monastery Complex. The author is composer Milas Manasyan from Artsakh. The same day the Soloists Ensemble of the Opera Theatre gave a performance in the Fine Arts Museum of the city Shushi.

25th anniversary of reopening of Artsakh Diocese in Gandzasar


In 1989, by the Patriarchal encyclical of Catholicos Vazken I, Artsakh Diocese was reopened. The territory of activity of the Diocese shall be the Republic of Nagorni Karabakh and adjacent Armenian regions. On the Feast of Holy Cross of Varag, 25th anniversary of reopening Artsakh Diocese was celebrated in Gandzasar Monastery.

Launching a Symposium dedicated to the activity of Hovhannes Chekijian


On September 26 and 27, a Symposium dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the conductor of State Choir of Armenia Hovhannes Chekijian was held in the conference hall of the National Academy of Science. As the Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan mentioned, it is not accidental that the Symposium on Chekijian is held on the day of Komitas’ birth.

Concert of Italian, English and Russian musicians with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia


On September 17, British pianist Ashley Voss, Russian violinist Boris Brovtzyn and State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia performed with the leadership of Italian conductor Pietro Rizzo. Beethoven “Egmont”, Brahms Tragic Overture, George Gershwin Piano Concerto and Jean Sibelius Violin Concerto – all in Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall.

“Gayane” in Northern Venice


With the support of the RA Ministry of Culture and by the initiative of the Assistance Foundation for the State National Academic Theatre and Opera after A. Spendiaryan, on July 22 and 23, the Opera and Ballet group was hosted at the world-known Mariinsky Theatre to present the ballet “Gayane”, within the framework of Saint Petersburg 22nd International Music Festival “Stars of White Nights”.
