From 1966, one of the key international music MIDEM gathers the titans of world music industrytogether in Cannes. These day, epochal contracts are signed, the directions of music art development are outlined, music equipment, new discs, copyrights are sold, art managers share their experience with the audience, lectures and master classes are delivered. This year the hotspot of MIDEM was Armenia with its status as an honorary guest.

“Carmen” is back to Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. 
September 23 was a night of chamber Music at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. 
This week, Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra was hosting piano Barry Douglas and German clarinet player Wenzel Fucks. 
“Tagharan” Ensemble launched its new concert series with traditional Armenian music. 
Swiss Authentic Light Orkestra performed in Cafesjian Center for the Arts. 

Lyubov Kazarnovskaya supports the establishment of International Opera Art Academy in Armenia

On September 4, famous opera singer and pedagogue Lybov Kazarnovskaya and Artistic Director of Al. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theatre Gegham Grigoryan organized a charity concert. The proceeds of the concert will be provided for the purpose of establishing an international Opera Art Academy in Armenian. Kazarnovskaya promised to eagerly deliver master classes in the Academy.

One of the best dance groups of South Ossetia “Alan” was in Yerevan. 
Ossetia Culture Days in Armenia were wrapped up with the concert of art masters. 
Participants of 5th International Festival “New Names” summed up the music program of this year with a solemn concert. 
On June 3, the State Theatre of Music Comedy of HakobParonyan hosted “Anathema”. 
The Opera Theatre finalized its activities of 2014 with a concert program. 

Launching classical music series in Komitas Museum

Metropolitan Museum of the USA in the possession of the richest art collection ever sent its staff to Armenia. The representatives of the Museum were hosted in the newly opened Komitas Museum Institute. The same day classical music series was launched in the Museum. The stage was occupied by the National Academic Choir of Armenia directed by Hovhannes Chekijyan.

Ballets “Carmen” and “Lorquiana” restaged in the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet

On March 5, National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Alexander Spendiaryan hosted restaged suite-performances “Lorquiana” and “Carmen”.The ballet performance of Bizet-Shchedrin - Carmen Suite was produced by the Merited Artist of Armenia ArmenGrigoryan in 1998. Lorquiana was staged by the Merited Artist of Armenia and Russian Federation Mark Mnatsakanyan. 

Concert-presentation of seventh album of “Hover” Choir

Seventh album of “Hover” State Chamber Choir was presented in Komitas Chamber Music House by a concert. The album incorporates 23 chorus compositions of Syuni, Sayat Nova, Komitas, T. Mansuryan, D. Halajyan, Yervand and Sedrak Yerkanyans, V. Sharafyan and a number of other Armenian composers.

Music for peace

Vitaly Vatulin, saxophone, and Maria Nemtsova, piano, give concerts in countries which are either in was or in conflict. Apart from concerts, the authors of the initiative also deliver master classes, help promising young people. This year, the musicians were joined by Novikov, Dmitry Uvarov and Juan Manuel Dominges, saxophone. On February 4, the group performed in Chamber Music House of Komitas and two days later – in Stepanakert Culture House.
