Concert of “Arar” Choir at Komitas Chamber Music House

“Arar” Choir is six years old. On May 22, the Choir gave a concert at Komitas Chamber Music House. The compositions of Bach, Buxtehude, Zelenka, Komitas, Mansuryan, Yervand Yerkanyan, Edgar Hovhannisyan and other composers were played. 

Three cross-stones dedicated to the memory of intelligence agent Zorik Gevorgyan were consecrated

Four years ago, on August 2, during the attempt to prevent and massive reconnaissance attack, the commander Zorik Gevorgyan was deceased in Martakert. 
Father Bagrat Galstanyan personally consecrated the three cross-stones dedicated to the memory of Zorik Gevorgyan. After the consecration, the attendees also participated in the opening ceremony of Zorik Gevorgyan.  The opening was done by the parents of the hero.


Seven children from Child Support Center of FAR were baptized

Seven beneficiary children from FAR’s Child Support Center were baptized in Masis’s St. Gevorg Church. The pastor of the Church Father Ashot Safaryan visits the children of the Child Support Center every week starting from 2010 as permanent visitor-priest.

Clergy meeting held at the Mother See

On May 24, nearly 200 priests serving in different Diocese gathered in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin with the Primates of their dioceses. 
Before the commencement of the meeting, the priests headed by the Armenian Patriarch attended a Divine Liturgy in the Mother Cathedral followed by a Repose of Souls for Gevork V Surenyats Catholicos at his grave.


The Armenian Patriarch attended the meeting of the Board of Trustees of Hayastan All Armenian Fund

On May 25, the 27th joint meeting of the Board of Trustees of Hayastan All Armenian Fund and its local bodies was held, which was conducted by the President of Armenia, the President of the Board of Trustees Armen Sargsyan. The meeting was attended by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the President of Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan and other officials. The agenda included the presentation of the previous year’s report of activities by the administration of the Fund.

Father Asoghik Karapetyan addressed the diverse discussions about Holy Lance

The demonstrators demanding the resignation of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II invaded the Chancellery of the Mother See requiring to show the Holy Lance piercing the side of Christ which as per their claims has been sold. However, yesterday Father Asoghik Karapetyan brought the Holy Lance from the Mother See Treasury-Museum and showed it to the press. He addressed the issue today as well. Talking about the tradition of exchanging gifts between sister Churches, he once again emphasized that a small relic of Holy Lance, placed in the silver duplicate, was presented to the Russian Orthodox Church by our Church in 2004. This didn’t however disrupt the integrity of the Lance.

Program targeting Syrian Armenians continue

The inflow of immigrants fleeing from Syrian war posed new tasks for the Armenian Round Table of the World Council. The Foundation implements not only charity and humanitarian assistance, but also development projects. 

New exhibition halls and restoration laboratories to open after the renovation of the Mother See Treasury House

In 2019, Alex and Marie Manoogian Treasury House Museum will feature new building facilities matching modern standards, two new exhibition halls, archives and restoration center.

Pilgrimage of seminarians to the borderland Tavush

Every summer, the end of educational year, the students and the teachers of Gevorkian Theological Seminary travel to different sacred places of Armenia. This year, the seminarians had picked borderland Tavush Marz.

The monument of Aram Manukyan opened in Yerevan

On July 17, in the area adjacent to the crossroad of Arami and Nalbandyan streets of Yerevan, the monument of the founder of the first Armenian Republic Aram Manukyan was opened.   The opening ceremony was launched with the prayer and blessing speech of the Patriarch. The monument of the public, political, military figure was constructed with the philanthropy of Ashot Tunyan and Gabriel Chemberjian. The author of the sculpture is Davit Minasyan.

“Creating Hands” project presented the works of another two young people

The creations of young painters, Davit Davtyan and Anna Krchatsyan are now on display in Gevorkian Theological Seminary. The 8th exhibition of “Creating Hands” features their compositions.
