Book Giving Day


This is the eighth year since we celebrate Hovhannes Tumanyan’s birthday as the Book Giving Day. Individuals, unions and publishing houses, bookstores and libraries do everything to encourage this tradition of book giving by organizing different events. There is no shortage of spontaneous book collections and meeting. The video refers to several initiatives with respect to that day.

Concert of State Soloists Ensemble in Komitas Chamber Music House


State Soloists Ensemblewas established in 2008. It consists of thirteen musicians. Concerts with complete staff becomes more and more difficult by years, that is why this time the musicians made up quartets, quintets and trios.

Closed screening of Turkish director Fatih Akin’s “The Scar” and press conference


Special Award winner at Venice International Film Festival, German director of Turkish decent Fatih Akin is in Yerevan. He first visited Yerevan in 2010 during Golden Apricot Film Festival. This time the objective of the visit was to present the film “The Scar” on the occasion of Armenian Genocide. Closed screening of the film designed for the representatives of press was followed by the press conference with the film crew.

Successes and issues of the Armenian cinematography in 2014


Every year the Armenian cinematography promises to develop and present itself deservedly. However, specialists believe that it’s not that easy. To say the least, Armenian cinematography has production-related issues, and it will take long to try solve these. However, despite these difficulties, 2014 was rich in film premieres. According to film specialist, it is only due to the persistent efforts of film directors.

With the support of the WCC Round Table Foundation Armenia, Hye Santa Charity foundation left for the borderland Vazashen village in Tavush Marz. The initiative was joined by the youth of Holy Trinity Church with hearing impairment.

Voices of Tatev


“One day in autumn we came to the Church and the proest suggested us singing in the choir. We had a hard time to agree with him, then we went to watch the rehearsal. Now we can’t imagine our life without Choir, it is our life”.
Children’s Choir of Tatev Monastery is famous not only in Tatev, but also beyond its borders. The Choir established in 2007 needed support, therefore it was included in the scope of the project Tatev Revival of IDeA Foundation. “The song of a child is a prayer – pure and powerful”, - says the priest of Tatev Monastry Rev. Fr. Mikayel.
