From May 22-26, Art Expo International Exhibition was held in Yerevan.  For the 4th time, the art fans had the opportunity to familiarize with the compositions of the Armenian and foreign painters. The organizer of the international exhibition was painter Vako Armeno Khakhamian. 

 

Every year, Yerevan's Innovative Experimental Art Center hosts the “One Shot” Festival of Short Films, which promotes the development of youth and independent cinema in Armenia.

This year, the festival was held on June 4-10, 517 applications were submitted. 

On May 17, A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theatre showcased “Arshak II” operea of Tigran Tchoukhajian. The performance was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the opera. Special guest singers of the theatre were Barsegh Tumanyan and Ruben Telunts arriving upon the invitation of Artistic Director of the Theatre Konstantin Orbelyan.

 

By the initiative of Unison non-governmental organization, the exhibition “Museum of Inaccessibility” was opened in Moscow Cinema. The exhibition showcased items of daily use, which become absolutely inaccessible for some people. According to the organizes, this event highlights what physical, information and other types of issues faced by people with disabilities.

An exhibition titled "Armenia" will be opened at New York's Metropolitan Museum on September 21. More than 130 exhibits will tell about the Armenian historical and cultural heritage of the 4th to 17th centuries, which will be provided by the Mashtots Matenadaran, the Armenian History Museum and the Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.   

73 children, aged 6-18, from different communities and towns of Armenia, with mental disabilities study in Nubarashen special boarding school N11. Accompanied by Father Yenovk Yesayan - in charge with 5th Army Corp and Yerevan Garrison and Deacon Hrayr Lalayan, the children visited the officers of the peacekeeping brigade of the RA Armed Forces and servicemen. The day here was different from the usual.  First of all, the ceremony was held. Afterwards 22 children were baptized. The godfathers were the military. 

 

6th exhibition of "Creating Hands” exhibition project opened in the lobby of Gevorkyan Theological Seminary. This time the students of the Academy of Fine Arts Victoria Shahbazyan and Mary Yepremyan presented their works.

 

A symposium dedicated to the eightieth anniversary of writer Gevorg Devrikyan was held in Manuk Abeghyan Literature Institute. The collection of speeches of the author was also presented. 

The sessions of the Supreme Spiritual Council held in Holy Etchmiadzin were completed. On June 1 the members of Supreme Spiritual Council visited the Memorial of Sardarapat. 

 

Mangasaryan invited the believers through his Facebook page to Avetik Isahakyan Library To discuss the calls of protest circulating in social network for the last several days, which are addressed to the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Patriarch of All Armenians. “Inter-Church issues are not solved by using political technologies”, said Father Markos Mangasaryan. “Besides, there is no division or polarization within the Armenian Apostolic Church to be compared to our internal political situation”.
