September 26 - October 2


The week from September 26 to October 2 of the last 17 years was marked by two Muron blessing ceremonies, episcopal ordinations, and opening of Karekin I educational center. 
The duplicates of two famous 12th century cross-stones, which were preserved in Western Armenia, were installed in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. 
 

 

October 10-16


Six years ago, this week, the longest ropeway in the world – “Ta Tever” was opened. The new building of Izmirlian Medical Center deemed to be one of the most advanced medical institutions of Armenia, operating under the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, was also opened this very week. 
This week, though in various years, were consecrated St. Hovhannes Church of Kotayk, Holy Mother of God Church of Meghradzor, St. Karapet Church of Yekaterinburg. 
 

 

October 3-9

Mardikians were awarded the medal of St. Gregory the Illuminator


America-based benefactors and members of FAR Board of Directors Edward and Janet Mardikians were awarded the highest medal of our Church - St. Gregory the Illuminator, under the Pontifical Encyclical of Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians.

Defense of Doctoral Thesis at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


On September 27, for the ecclesiastical degree of Archimandrite (Vardapet), Rev. Fr. Tachat Tsaturyan, a member of the Brotherhood of Mother See and the Spiritual Pastor of the Armenian Diocese in Poland, presented his thesis entitled “Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Chris in the Armenian Church during the 4-7th centuries, according to the Armenian ecclesiastical tradition”.

Blessing of teachers in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


New academic year usually in August 31 and the stewards of education jointly with the Minister visit Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to receive a blessing. Many of them regard this visit as a pilgrimage and ask from the Lord power and zeal for conducting the learning process.  

Winners of Kangaroo and Meghu contests in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


The pupils with best records in Kangaroo contest in the field of mathematics and Meghu contest of Armenian language were received in the Mother See by Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan. 
 

Easter even in Holy Trinity Church


After the Easter Divine Liturgy was over on March 27, people did not rush home, instead they stayed to congratulate each other and pass the Good Tidings of Resurrection. Mkhitar  Sebastatsi Educational Complex and Malatia-Sebastia Disctrict organized a big festivity in Holy Trinity Church of Yerevan. 
 

Foot Washing ceremonyin the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


On Holy Thursday, all Apostolic Churches offered Foot Washing ceremony. This God-commanded ceremony was offered by Karekin II CatholicosAll Armenians in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
 

Catholicos of All Armenians received delegation from Catholic University of Hungary


PázmányPéter Catholic University of Hungary will open a Chair of Armenian Studies. The news was informed by the Rector of the University Szuromi Szabolcs at the meeting with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. The Hungarian University will sign a cooperation agreement with Yerevan State Pedagogical University to implement exchange program for teachers and students in upcoming years. The professor believes that this initiative will bridge the Apostolic Armenians to Catholic Hungarians.
