Destroyed Holy Cross Church of Chichkhanavank reconstructed and anointedThe Primate of Gugark Diocese Archbishop Sebouh Chuldjian consecrated Holy Cross Church of Chichkhanavank. The holy place dating back to the 6th century was destroyed in the result of 1988 earthquake. Hayk and Hilda Manjikians assumed the responsibility of funding the reconstruction of the Monastery. The architect is Stepan Nalbandyan.

The Diocese of Tavush hosted pilgrims from Yerevan on the Feast of AssumptionOn August 15, on the Feast of Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, a group of Church-devoted young people visited St. Hovhannes newly constructed Church in Berd, Tavush, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Dajad Davidian. The pilgrims also visited the famous national park of the city “Soran”, where a festival of berries and honey was taking place. At the end of the day, the priests under the guidance of the newly-elected Primate of Tavush Diocese Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan blessed the grape.

Summer Camp operating under Holy Mother of God Church in OdzunTen years ago, upon the initiative of Father Vrtanes Baghalyan, a Summer Camp was established under the Holy Mother of God Church in Odzun. Today, around 130 children enjoy their summer rest in the Camp. The camp counselors come here from different communities of Lori Marz on voluntary basis.

Armenia participated in this even for the second time. This year Armenia was represented with its “Red Hail” project to commemorate the centenary of the Armenian Genocide. Armenian community in Tambov city of Russia building a new ChurchBy the initiative of Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Nor Nakhijevan and Russia, on June 2, the foundation of the Church to be built in Tambov were consecrated. The architectural plan is authored by Hakob Babakhanyan. The house of prayer is constructed with the efforts of the local Armenian diocese.
