Government Decision on Memorial days – topic for discussionsIn 2008, the Government of Armenia passed a Decision on considering all Memorial days following major holidays of the Armenian Apostolic Church to be non-working days. It was replaced by the next Saturday. However, during the last seating of the Government, the PM Hovik Abrahamyan announced, that since from January Armenia is a member of European Economic Union, where Saturday and Sunday are non-working days, the replacement of Monday with Saturday might hinder the operations of certain organizations. This decision had caused wide-scale discussions.
