Prayer of Peace for the Middle East


On October 12, the Divine Liturgy offered in the Mother See, the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II was accompanied by Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East. The leaders of sister churches prayed for establishing peace in the Middle East.
The same day, Karekin II Catholicos received the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic paying an official visit to Armenia.

Symphonic Orchestra of Opera and Ballet Theatre in Artsakh


On September 28, Symphonic Orchestra of Opera and Ballet Theatre after A. Spendiaryan played Gandzasar Symphony on the backyard of Gandzasar Monastery Complex. The author is composer Milas Manasyan from Artsakh. The same day the Soloists Ensemble of the Opera Theatre gave a performance in the Fine Arts Museum of the city Shushi.

25th anniversary of reopening of Artsakh Diocese in Gandzasar


In 1989, by the Patriarchal encyclical of Catholicos Vazken I, Artsakh Diocese was reopened. The territory of activity of the Diocese shall be the Republic of Nagorni Karabakh and adjacent Armenian regions. On the Feast of Holy Cross of Varag, 25th anniversary of reopening Artsakh Diocese was celebrated in Gandzasar Monastery.

5th Armenian Church Representative Assembly finalized


From September 18-21, under the presidency of Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, the 5th Armenian Church Representative Assembly was held in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, attended by representatives of the Armenian Patriarchates of Jerusalem and Constantinople, Pontifical delegations, Primates and lay delegates of the Dioceses of Armenia and the Diaspora, Bishops serving in various structures of the Armenian Church, and Supreme Spiritual Council members.
Church Representative Assembly is the authorized body of the National Ecclesiastical Assembly, which is the higher body of the Armenian Church. The Church Representative Assembly is held to discuss urgent issues in our Church life, make respective decisions and apple them.

Priest ordination at the Mother Cathedral


On the 23rd anniversary of Armenian Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin housed thousands of believers. These days, on the occasion of the Church Representative Assembly, Primates of various Armenian Church dioceses around the world and participants of 5th Armenia-Diaspora Forum are in Armenia. Today, during the Divine Liturgy at the Mother Cathedral, a priest ordination took place.
