Pontifical Divine Liturgy on the Feast of Holy Nativity and Theophany


On January 6, the Feast of Holy Nativity and Theophany, a Pontifical Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Mother Cathedral by Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Chairman of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan, other state officials, members of the Supreme Church Council, foreign diplomats accredited in Armenia, representatives of education, science and culture. 
This year the honor of bearing Pontifical Canopy was granted to Dr.Armen Charchyan, Chief Architect of the Mother See Ara Vardanyan, Merited Artist of Armenia Hrant Tokhatyan and Dr. Gevorg Madoyan.

Candlelight Divine Liturgy in St. Sarkis Church


A Candlelight Divine Liturgy of Holy Nativity was served under the presidency of Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan by the celebrant priest Rev. Fr. Narek Avagyan.Among the believers were present the President Serzh Sargsyan, the Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and other officials.

Service of ordination in Sevanavank and Moscow Holy Transfiguration Church


On the eve of the Feast Day of St. Stephen the Proto-Martyr of the Church, 20students from the Vaskenian Theological Seminary were granted the rank of acolyte and 15 students from the 4th level of the Seminary were granted the rank of sub-deacon.
On December 25, the service of ordination for the minor orders was also offered at the Holy Transfiguration Mother Cathedral of Moscow.

Social Service of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


Social Service Center of the Mother See was established in 2014. All social program of the Armenian Church is coordinated by this institution extending help to socially insecure families, our displaced compatriots – Syrian Armenians, Armenians of Kessab, Iraq, as well as heroes of freedom war and the disabled, students, orphans and military servants. In the meantime, the activities of this service are targeting the identification of socially vulnerable families.

Award ceremony for the winners of the contest Parables of Gospel at Schools


The award ceremony was held under the presidency of the Patriarch of All Armenians, at the Armenian Youth Center of Etchmiadzin.The prizes "Best Script", "Best Performance", "Best Staging" were respectively handed to School of Apaga, ArmavirMarz, Mikoyan School N166 of Yerevan and Secondary School of Jrapi village, Shirak Marz. “Pontifical Prize” was granted to Ararat Secondary School N4 of Ararat.

Ground-blessing service for the Candle-Lighting Hall and Pontifical Burial Chamber at the Mother See


In the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, under the presidency of Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians and Aram I, Catholicos of Great House of Cilicia, a Ground-blessing service was held for the Candle-Lighting Hall and Pontifical Burial Chamber. The newly constructed Chamber will hereinafter serve a resting place for our Patriarchs’ remains. A memorial monument to eternalize the memory of previous 131 Catholicoses’ will also be installed.

Visit of Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, to Armenia is completed


The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia was in Armenia by the invitation of Karekin I, Catholicos of All Armenians to participate in the three-day Bishop’s Synod. On November 15, under the presidency of Karekin I, the Catholicos of All Armenians, bid farewell to the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.
