Voices of Tatev


“One day in autumn we came to the Church and the proest suggested us singing in the choir. We had a hard time to agree with him, then we went to watch the rehearsal. Now we can’t imagine our life without Choir, it is our life”.
Children’s Choir of Tatev Monastery is famous not only in Tatev, but also beyond its borders. The Choir established in 2007 needed support, therefore it was included in the scope of the project Tatev Revival of IDeA Foundation. “The song of a child is a prayer – pure and powerful”, - says the priest of Tatev Monastry Rev. Fr. Mikayel.

Social Service of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin


Social Service Center of the Mother See was established in 2014. All social program of the Armenian Church is coordinated by this institution extending help to socially insecure families, our displaced compatriots – Syrian Armenians, Armenians of Kessab, Iraq, as well as heroes of freedom war and the disabled, students, orphans and military servants. In the meantime, the activities of this service are targeting the identification of socially vulnerable families.

They established the foundation “Source” designed for children with disability and supporting their families. Their key task was to find day care centers for children with severe disabilities and to support their parents. What guides these women and people around them is the great love and faith.

60-ies of the V century: the neighboring village Vagharshapat is hosting the Catholicos of All Armenians Gyut. Those sitting at the table with him ask an old man, who lived there as a stranger, to make a toast to the Catholicos. The old man makes the toast in the style of sharakan (Armenian chant). Everyone is startled. The Catholicos Gyut gets closer to him and bows low to kiss his Teacher he was seeking for so many years. That old man was Movses Khorenatsi, the greatest of written Armenian culture Golden age.

Episcopal Ordination in the Mother See


On November 16, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Episcopal ordinations and consecrations were held. Rev. Fr. Narek Berberyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Brazil, Rev. Fr. Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Canada and Rev. Fr. Vardan Navasardyan, Director of the Christian Education Center of Mother See were ordained by the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.
