On April 4 Norma Opera will be presented in Opera Theatre


On April 4, Bellini’s “Norma” will be staged in Opera and Ballet Theatre following a long interval. The opera was reinstated by the Artistic Director of the Theatre Gegham Grigoryan. 
 

Sashur Qalashyan


Owing to his efforts, dozens of historical-cultural buildings and constructions in Gyumri were saved in 1980-ies. It was due to the plan designed by Sashur Kalashyan and his team, that today the memorial and museum eternalizing the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims now hoists up in the heights of Tsitsernakaberd.
The architect addresses the destruction of historical-cultural buildings and distorted environment in the capital with deep pain.

On February 12, Vilen Galstyan turned 75. “Gayane” ballet held on February 13, was dedicated to the jubilee of the great choreographer by Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

On February 21, the jubilee of the RA National Artist, artistic director of the state ensemble “Barekamutyun” was celebrated. The artists of Barekamutyun Ensemble and Royal Swedish Ballet performed in the concert. 
 

Pedagogical meetings underway in the Mother See


It’s been two days since pedagogical meetings of spiritual-educational institutions are in progress in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The high schools of the Mother See will soon be replenished. Apart from Trbanchyan High School, new ones will be opened in Syunik, Lori or Tavush, and possibly in Yerevan too. 
 

Composer Valeri Sargsyan would turn 70 this year


Composer, violin and pedagogue Valeri Sargsyan headed the Music School of Sevan for nearly 20 years, which now bears his own name. Even on a distance from the capital, the composer was able to craft music atmosphere. Svetlana Navasardyan, piano, recalls the creative cooperation between her and Valeri Sargsyan.
