Hamazgayin (PanArmenian) State TheatreIn 1991, when Armenia was experiencing hardships, Sos Sargsyan founded Hamazgayin Theatre. From 1998-1999 he replenished the theatre with younger people. Sos Sargsyan believed that all troubles could be overcome with the power of art. At present, the theatre established by the renowned actor is functioning smoothly and loyal to the aesthetic and human values of Sos Sargsyan.

Finalization of “Light to Children” ProgramIt’s been two years since with the aid of Armenian-Danish “Light to Children” program there are Christian education groups functioning in various communities of Aragatsotn Marz designed for the children of 8-14. Today 17 children were baptized in St. Gevork Church of Mughni.

New Department set up in Gevorkian SeminaryA Department for Public Relations has been established at Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The activities of the Department will focus on disseminating comprehensive information on the Seminary, meetings and direct interactions at educational institutions, publishing various booklets and manuals, media coverage, regional visits, strengthening of ties with Diaspora.

Presentation of the book “Once upon a time there was a Parajanov” and opening of photograph exhibitiFor the first time ever, the memory-novel of Garri Kuntsev, the sound director of Sergei Parajanov's films “The Legend of Suram Fortress”, “Ashugh Gharib” and “Confession”, was published in Armenian. The book also contains exclusive photographs of Yuri Harmash, the “Arabesques” provided by Kuntsev’s daughter.

Pilgrimage Day of St. Shoghakat MonasteryOn June 19, our Church celebrated the commemoration day of St. Hovhannes Mkrtich (John the Baptist) and Bishop St. Atanagines. It is also the Pilgrimage Day of Shoghakat Church. This year the Divine Liturgy was also attended by the clergy from various dioceses of the world arriving in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Celebrant is Rev. Fr. HakobSahakyan from Akhltskha.

Brotherhood Conference kicked offToday, under the presidency of the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, the Brotherhood Conference kicked off, which is convened every two years. This gathering of priests convened now the sixth time brings together the clergy serving around all corners of the world. This year the Mother See housed 75 priests from different Armenian Dioceses of the world, including representatives from the Patriarchal Sees of the Holy Etchmiadzin.

Bas relief of Vysotsky in YerevanOn June 6, nearby Cafesjian Center, the bas relief of V. Vysotsky was opened. The author is the famous Latvian sculptor Janis Strupulis, the donator – International Association Peace Cup. The opening ceremony was followed by pieces of Vladimir Vysotsky’s songs in Cafesjian sculpture garden.
