Workforce development program for Syrian-Armenian refugees


Since 2012, over 12000 Syrian-Armenians have immigrated to Armenia. The WCC Armenia Round Table Charitable Foundation in collaboration with the Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenian Issues, has implemented a number of humanitarian programs. The latest of them is the workforce development program for Syrian-Armenian refugees.

 

Hakob Yeritsyan

On June 20, the results of young poets’ annual contest of Irina Gyulnazarian were finalized in the Writer’s House, Tsakhkadzor. The event is implemented jointly by IGEFA Charity Foundation and Armenian Writers’ Union. The participants included young poets below the age of 35.

 

Ruined Pilgrimages of Odzun


Odzun village is one of the most ancient residencies of Armenia. The churches and monastery complexes – Tsakhkevank, Horomayr, Ardvi, St. Hovhan Odznetsi pilgrimage, that are found in this area come to prove, that for centuries, Odzun served as the religious-cultural center of the region. Unfortunately, most of the pilgrimages of Odzun are ruined.

Problems of contemporary Armenian fairy-tales


On September 12, a seminar-discussion was held at NAS on the topic “Problems of Contemporary Armenian Fairy-Tales”. The presenters addressed new forms of expression of the Armenian fairy-tales on the internet, within the contemporary literature and elsewhere. The participants collected folklores in Tavush, Shirak and Kotayk Marzes.

Tumanyan Fairy-Tale Day


The International Festival of Puppet Theatres will follow its annual tradition kicking off in the birthplace of Tumanyan – Dsegh village of Lori.The theatre groups will afterwards proceed with taking the fairy tale mood to the audience living in the farthest corner of Marz. The official closing ceremony of the festival Tumanyan Fairy-Tale Day will be hold on September 10, at Yerevan State Puppet Theatre.

The Feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross – on September 14


By the order of the Church, every tabernacle feast is preceded by a fasting period. This year, the fasting period that comes before the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross will start on Sunday, September 7, and be undone on September 14, on the Holy Cross Divine Liturgy by partaking the Holy Communion.
