Candlelight Divine Liturgy in the Mother Church in Yerevan


On January 5, the Eve of the Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ offered in the St. Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral in Yerevan, people were asking for peace and unity for the Armenian people, remembering the martyred soldiers in their prayers and asking for healing for the wounded.

 

 

Home-Blessing Service of the Feast of Holy Nativity


During the Home-Blessing services being offered on the Feast of the Nativity, a priest enters the house and with the Great Tiding of Christ's Holy Birth, sings the hymn "Great and Wonderful Mystery" written by Movses Khorenatsi. Then, he sprays the walls with blessed water, incenses the house, and asks God for protection and blessing over the members of the family.

Moving towards the International Theatre Day by the initiative of Hovhannes Tumanyan State Puppet Theatre and supported by the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, all much loved artists will act in one performance played in three theatres of the Yerevan - Hovhannes Tumanyan State Puppet Theatre , National Academic Theatre of Sundukyan and Sos Sargyan’s Hamazgayin Theatre. On March 3 and 4, Hovhannes Tumanyan State Puppet Theatre will hold the premiere of Oswald Zahradnik's Solo for a Striking Clock.

The final meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council was held in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.During the four-day discussions with high-ranking clergy and laymen, various issues related to the upcoming National Ecclesiastical Assembly, renovation of the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, administrative, canonical, diocesan and pastoral life, as well as the educational and social mission of the church were discussed.Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians presided over the Supreme Spiritual Council meeting.

Eve of the Feast of Vardavar in the Children’s Park of Yerevan


5 years ago the joyful tradition of celebrating the Eve of the Feast of Vardavar came to life. With the support of Yerevan City Hall, the members of the Youth Union of Ararat Patriarchal Diocese organize a march to the Children’s Park with songs and dances, folk traditions. This year too the festivity was launched from the Mother Cathedral St. Sarkis Church. The participants of the celebration moved to the Park from the Church accompanied by the Folk groups “Vark Hayots” and “Van”.

More than 100 young people hosted in tent camp of Odzun Monastery


The traditional tent camp has kicked off in Odzun. Over 100 young people aged 15-30 from Aragatsotn Diocese were hosted in Odzun St. Astvatsatsin Monastic Complex.
