September 1 in Eurnekian Public School


The welcoming ceremony in Eurnekian Public School operating under the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin started off with the Lord’s Prayer. The headmaster of the School Bishop Vardan Navasardyan congratulated the students, teachers and parents on the Day of Knowledge and passed the blessing of the Armenian Patriarch. 

Gospel of Sangibaran was brought to Etchmiadzin St. Shoghakat Church


It’s been seventh year since the miracle-working Gospel of Armenian village Sangibaran in Iran is taken out of Mashtots Matenadaran (Manuscript Library) and lead to Etchmiadzin St. Shogakat Church to offer a Divine Liturgy. The Gospel of Sangibaran was kept in St. Hovhannes Church of the village for 400 years and therefore it was called the Gospel of Hovhannes. 
 

Feast of Assumption in Holy Mother of God Church in Nork Marash


To beseech the intercession of the Mother of God and to partake in the festive Divine Liturgy, every year hundreds of believers overcome the heights of Holy Mother of God Church in Nork Marash. There are many Syrian Armenian families in the Church which fled from Syria. They recollect the details of the Feast of Assumption and traditions of grapes blessing ceremonies in a once-Armenian populated Kessab.

On 21 August, in the Mother Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin a special Pontifical Prayer Service was offered on the occasion of the birthday of Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch.

Blessing of Gardens


A garden blessing ceremony was held in Surenavan community of Ararat Marz. The grapevines and apricot gardens were blessed. 
 

Commemoration of the Parable on Ten Virgins in the Mother Cathedral


On Holy Tuesday, the parable of Ten Virgins is recalled during the evening Divine Liturgy. Ten acolytes symbolizing the ten virgins go out to divide into two groups by casting a lot – the group of Wise Virgins, and that of the Foolish Virgins. The ceremony emphasizes the sacrament of the parable. 

Church community of Byuravan founded a dried fruit plant


The members of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of Byuravan with the blessing of Father Ghazar Petrosyan have established a small production of ecologically clean dried apricot, plums, peach. 

Miracle-working Our Lady of Sevan is likely to be taken out of National Gallery for one day


The famous icon of Our Lady dating back to XVII century, has been taken out of St. Arakelots Monastery in Sevan back in Soviet times. It is now installed in the National Gallery. The icon is well-known for its healing and recovery powers. As the gallery staff member states, many believers and priests come to the Gallery, kneel and pray to the icon often. Several attempts to return the icon to the church were made, number of letters were delivered to different Prime Ministers of Armenia. So far they go unanswered. 
 

Easter Candlelight Divine Liturgy in the Mother See


A Candlelight Divine Liturgy was offered in the Holy Cathedral to acclaim the end of the Great Lent. The Armenian Patriarch lighted the lantern of altar, from which all believers lighted their own lamps as a blessing for their family hearths.
 

Commemoration day of John the Baptist in Gavar


The participants of the Divine Liturgy offered in St. John the Baptist Church of Gavar prayed for the Armenian soldiers. The celebrant was the pastor of Sevan and the region Father Nshan Sargsyan. 
 

Joint prayer in St. Gregory the Illuminator's Mother Cathedral of Yerevan


On April 4, a joint prayer was raised in St. Gregory the Illuminator's Mother Cathedral of Yerevan presided by Karekin II Catholicos of All Armenians and attended by the President of Armenia.
