8 Youth Centers operating in Yerevan and regions have started the new academic year


In Yerevan, there are 3 Youth Centers in Nor Nork, Malatia, Arabkir administrative districts and "School of Miniature Painting" in Kanaker. There are Youth Centers in Etchmiatsin, Ashtarak, Gyumri and Vanadzor. During the thirty years of activity, several generations of Armenians were educated in these institutions. In all departments of the educational institution: performing arts, sports, foreign languages, journalism and applied arts, drawing, admissions are currently ongoing either to supplement existing classes or to open new classes.

 

The anniversary of the re-consecration of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin was celebrated in Aruch


After a hundred-year hiatus, the church began to live a full life: baptism, coronation, liturgy and services. According to the residents of Aruch, the prayer house has changed their lives, a large community of believers has formed around the church, and the number of Sunday school students has doubled. The day of the re-consecration of the church has become a day of covenant for the residents of Aruch and neighboring villages.
 

A new silver commemorative coin was put into circulation on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Gevorgyan Theological Seminary

On September 5, the Holy Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the memory of Saints John the Forerunner (Baptist) and Job the Righteous


A Divine Liturgy was served in St. Shoghakat church. The Gospel of Sangibaran is traditionally brought from Mashtots Matenadaran to St. Shoghakat Church every year on this feast. Sangibaran is one of the villages of Iran, where Armenians have lived since the 17th century, as a result of the deportation carried out by Shah Abbas.

Football clubs have been opened in several settlements of Ararat region


The Armenian Round Table Foundation of the World Council of Churches, in cooperation with Ararat Municipality and Masyatsotn Diocese, has opened football clubs in several settlements of the region and provided the youth with the opportunity to train for free.

An international scientific conference was organized in Yerevan where historical falsifications were discussed


"Geghard" Scientific Analytical Foundation organized a scientific conference on the problems of historical and cultural heritage.  Historian Hovik Avanesov referred to Azerbaijan's state policy of distortion and destruction of Armenian cultural heritage since the 1960s, the geography of which expanded further since the 2000s.

The Church of the Holy Mother of God was re-consecrated after improvement, furnishing and renovation


Dorbandavank Holy Mother of God Church is an early medieval structure. It was last renovated in the 1980s. On the initiative of the diocesan primate, a group of local benefactors took care of the improvement and furnishing of the church. The doors and windows were changed, the issue of lighting was solved. A altar curtain, chandelier and candlesticks were donated to the church.

Large-scale excavations are underway in the Spitak Vank complex of Lanjanist village


At the initiative of the Masyatsotn Diocese, the expedition of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography is carrying out excavations in the Spitak Vank complex of the village of Lanjanist. Short-term excavations were carried out here since 2021, but there is a need to carry out more large-scale excavations for the purpose of strengthening and restoring the monastery complex. The Spitak Monastery complex consists of the Holy Mother of God Church and adjacent auxiliary structures, the functional significance of which will become clear at the end of the excavations.

The 11th "Fresco" modern art and spiritual film festival has started


The ceremonial opening of the festival took place in Vanadzor, then continued in Yerevan. Representatives of various branches of art, clergy, psychologists, and pedagogues arrived in Armenia to participate in the festival, with the aim of speaking to the society about universal values: love, tolerance, and pacifism in the language of culture. The festival was organized by "Children's Special Creative Center" SNOC.

The Saint Karapet monastery complex is being restored with the funds of the benefactors of Mosaghbyur


The repair and restoration works of the church, bell tower and mausoleum of the St. Karapet monastery complex of Mosaghbyur have started. The floor of Holy Mother of God Church had a limestone layer, which has now been removed and a new floor will be laid after the foundations are fixed. The damaged stones of the windows of the depository on the first floor have been replaced with new stones. Water supply is also included in the rehabilitation project. According to preliminary calculations, the works will last until the end of 2025.

After 12 years of major repair and strengthening works, the Mother Cathedral will be anointed with the Holy Muron


Currently, the last restoration works are underway in the Cathedral. The floor is paved, and in parallel, in some areas, the murals are restored and updated. The murals of the Bell tower, in front of the main Altar, the steps of the South and North Altars and the Western Altar are being restored.

The Aragatsotn Diocese has organized a training course for young people


A two-day training course entitled "We are young people who serve the centuries-old church" was held in Aragatsotn Diocese with the participation of more than 140 young people. Representatives of art and science, clergy held discussions with the young people, each of them addressing the problems in their field and the possible options for solving them through the young people.
