Yervand Ter-Minasyan's memoir has been published


On Yervand Ter-Minasyan's birthday, the presentation of the book "Memories of My Life" took place at the Mashtots Matenadaran. It is the second, revised edition of the scientist's memoirs. On the day of the presentation, architect Anush Ter-Minasyan donated valuable samples from her grandfather's archive to the Matenadaran.

 

The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the three-year anniversary of the Presentation of the Holy Virgin to the Temple


With the blessing of Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, Primate of the Shirak Diocese, November 21 was also designated as the feast day of the Holy Mother of God Church in Maralik. The relic-bearing right of John the Baptist was transferred from the Seven Wounds Church in Gyumri and a festive liturgy of the feast was served. The holiday got its name from an episode in the childhood of the Virgin Mary, when her parents, Hovakim and Anna, presented the three-year-old Mary to the Temple in Jerusalem.

 

The Diocese of Aragatsotn gathered for a united prayer at the Holy Mother of God Church in Talin


With the blessing of the Diocesan Primate, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, every Thursday a joint liturgy is held in one of the churches of the diocese and the spiritual class of the diocese, led by the Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Rev. Father Shnorhk Paloyan, joins in joint prayer.

A Liturgy was celebrated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the consecration of the Holy Trinity Church


On the occasion of the anniversary, members of the parish community planted trees in the surrounding area. In the evening, representatives of the women's and youth unions, Sunday school students, the "Khorotik" national song and dance ensemble, the "Nrane" folk dance group, and people supporting the activities of the shrine participated in the 20th anniversary celebration.

Those gathered in the courtyard of the Holy Mother of God Church in the village of Aratashen, Armavir Diocese, participated in a cross procession on the occasion of the feast. This was the first time an intra-community cross procession was organized in the Artimets parish, although pilgrimages to famous holy places have always been made. The participants of the cross procession walked to the village of Taronik with prayers and singing hymns. The occasion was not only the feast of the Archangels and All Heavenly Forces, but also the anniversary of the consecration of the Surb Zorats chapel in Taronik and the day of the vow.

Evening Prayer was performed at the Holy Mother of God Church in Gyumri


A service was held at the Holy Mother of God, Yot Verk Church in Gyumri, followed by a pre-holiday service, which heralds the feast of the memory of the Archangels Gabriel, Michael and the entire heavenly host. With the blessing of the spiritual overseer of the Shirak Diocese, Bishop Narek Avagyan, clergy and believers serving in different communities of the Shirak Diocese arrived at the Yot Verk Church to participate in a joint prayer. This is the feast of the naming of Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan, the leader of the Shirak Diocese.

Master's thesis defense held at Gevorgyan Theological Seminary


The students of the Gevorgyan Theological Seminary defended their dissertations on the topics of “The Hymns of Saint Hovhannes Odznetsi”, “The Dioceses of the Armenian Church in Persia and Their Scientific, Educational and Cultural Life in the 18th-20th Centuries”, “Armenian-Latin Church Relations: A Ritual-Historical and Doctrinal Examination”, and “The Debt Payment Poem of Catholicos of All Armenians Simeon I of Yerevan as an Advocacy of the Creed of the Armenian Church”. The examining committee was chaired by Avetis Harutyunyan, candidate of historical sciences.

A joint service was held at the St. Mesrop Mashtots Church in Oshakan


Under the leadership of Father Shnorhk Paloyan, Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Aragatsotn Diocese, on October 30, the clergy, monks, and pilgrims of the diocese gathered at the St. Mesrop Mashtots Church in Oshakan. Those present prayed together for the imprisoned Archbishop Mkrtich, Archbishops Michael and Bagrat, Father Karekin, and the other detainees. With the blessing of the Primate of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, a joint liturgy is held every Thursday in one of the holy places of the diocese.

The Return of Treasures: Manuscripts


The manuscript collection of Holy Etchmiadzin has been replenished with 123 manuscripts through the efforts of Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians. Now the manuscript collection of the Mother See is the second largest in Armenia after the Mashtotsyan Matenadaran. After the renovation of the Holy See, special cabinets were installed by special order of His Holiness, where the manuscripts of the Mother See are carefully collected. They are not only kept in the manuscript collection, but also exhibited in the museums of the Mother See, participating in exhibitions taking place in Armenia and the Diaspora.

Ruben Sevak Museum presents Yervand Kochar's portrait of Saint Mesrop Mashtots


The exhibition of the decorative collection of Holy Etchmiadzin will be on display until November 1. After returning to Yerevan from Paris, Kochar painted a series of paintings dedicated to prominent Armenian figures, one of which is this painting. In 1962, he dedicated his work to Vazgen I, Catholicos of All Armenians, on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of his accession to the throne.

At the end of the evening service, a procession began from the St. Mesrop Church in Erebuni


Led by priests, the faithful walked to the Erebuni Museum, then returned to the church. On the way back, the number of pilgrims increased. At the end of the pilgrimage, the Andastan service was performed in the church yard. The priest blessed the four corners of the world with the cross and the Gospel, and asked the Lord for blessings and peace.

Shukhonts Miracle Gospel Removed from Matenadaran on Holy Translators' Day


In the St. Mariane Church of Ashtarak, the diocesan leader, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, performed a general confession, after which the young people, led by priests, traveled to the St. Mesrop Mashtots Church of Oshakan to participate in the Liturgy. The participants of the pilgrimage were guided by police officers. Before the evening service, people had the opportunity to touch the miraculous scroll, about whose healing properties there were numerous testimonies.
