An Armenian orphanage operated in the Antura Monastery, not far from Beirut, from 1915 to 1919, and in 1993, the remains and relics of Armenian orphans were discovered during construction work. By a joint decision of the Armenian community and representatives of the Armenian Church, the relics were buried next to the graves of Catholic fathers and teachers resting in the Antura Cemetery.
