The Mother See has issued a statement, according to which the authorities' relentless persecution of the church has taken on new, unprecedented manifestations in recent days. After the sacrilegious staging of the Holy Liturgy in the Hovhannavank of the Aragatsotn Diocese, with the direct participation of law enforcement officers and the involvement of obstructionist groups, Hovhannavank has been occupied, as a result of which the spiritual ministry of Father Sargis Sargsyan and Father Manuk Zeynalyan, who were assigned to serve on site, is being disrupted.
