The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the Nativity of the Virgin Mary on September 8

The birthday of the greatest saint of the Christian Church is a day of pilgrimage, especially in churches named after her. September 8 is also the name day of those named Mariam, Mary, Yeranuhi, Srbuhi, Perjuhi, and Mari. The Holy Week of the Exaltation of the Cross will also begin on that day.
