Any action of a deacon as a priest is invalid. He has no right to be in the class, in the court, in the vestries, especially to ascend the altar of the church, to touch the church utensils: the Scythian, the Mass Box, the Holy Communion, the Holy Gospel, the Holy Table, the meron, and so on. The Armenian Canon includes the 5th canon of the Council of Antioch, which states: “If any priest or deacon disregarded the order of his bishop, when the bishop rejected him and expelled him from the church, and that elder and deacon gathered separately and established the Holy Table, did not listen to the bishop’s call, despised him and did not want to listen to the good words he uttered twice and more, such should be completely rejected and no more words of comfort should be spoken to them, since they can no longer accept the same honor again. "And if they persist and cause riots, bring a mob against the church with the help of external authority or other force, such people, as rioters, must be subdued and the reins must be tightened."
