On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Armenia's independence, a service of Republican Prayer was held on September 21 at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, presided over by Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; during the service, the clergy and the faithful offered prayers for the steadfastness and peace of the Republic of Armenia. In his Pontifical message, His Holiness called for unity and solidarity in order to confront internal and external threats and to defend the people's right to a free and secure life.
