Festivities of St. Sarkis in St. Sarkis Church community of Argavand

The clergy of Argavand St. Sarkis Church consider the feast of St. Sarkis the Commander to be the feast of their community. The pastor of Argavand Church Father Grigor Hovhannisyan addressed the last prayer of St. Sarkis in his sermon, where the saint was expressing his satisfaction with God saying: “I yearned for suffering for the name of Christ and earn the crown of martyrdom since my childhood”. The priest exhorted those present to be as pious and courageous as St. Sarkis was.
