The Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Saint Gregory the Illuminator's coming out of Pit

The Armenian Church celebrates the feast of Saint Gregory the Illuminator's coming out of Pit on the Saturday following the feasts of Hripsime and Gayane. On this occasion, the relics of Gregory the Illuminator were transferred to Khor Virap. Faithful believe that a blessing emanates from Khor Virap, and the relics and the intercession of the Illuminator double the power of their faith. The cross bearing the relics remained in the church until the evening service.
