On October 9, a meeting of bishops serving at the Mother See, as well as diocesan primates and locum tenens from Armenia, took place at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, presided over by Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.
The participants issued a statement expressing strong disagreement regarding the establishment of an investigative commission in the National Assembly to examine the "crisis" within the Church, and urged the parliamentary majority to act strictly within the scope of their constitutional powers.
