Cinema for Social Change

In the scope of discourse over cinematography, historically a big role is attached to the social and political significance issues of cinema. How does a cinema reflect social-political changes, will it itself bring such changes about, or it mainly deals with its consequences? The participants of screenings and seminars on “Cinema for Social Changes”, organized in the scope of 11th edition of Golden Apricot,attempt to answer these questions. Hayk Hambardzumyan spoke with Richard Pena, American director, on the cinema for social changes.
