In 2013, the excavations of Saint Mesrop Mashtots Church of Oshakan led to discovery of foundations of a V Century church. The excavations of 2014 ended up with seven meters long basement walls, which the archaeologists assume are the socles of the temple constructed on the real tomb of the Saint himself.
