From October 1-5, 2014, Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians paid his first Pontifical visit to Myanmar (formerly Burma). The Supreme Patriarch also visited St. Hovhannes Armenian Church. For years, the rites and ceremonies had been offered by someone who is not a priest and doesn’t speak Armenian. The issue was specifically addresses on the press conference called in the Mother See.
