Armavir Penitentiary is the largest in Armenia designed for 1200 persons.
It is comprised of 6 units. Last year, these days, a chapel in the second unit was consecrated and called Holy Transfiguration. The chapel was built by the convicts. This year, on February 11, the convicts of unit 1 obtained their own corner of prayer. Bishop Artak Tigranyan consecrated the chapel constructed by the convicts and named it Holy Resurrection.
