Especially with the impression left by the Soviet-Armenian literature, a misconception has been formed that any poem or story written on the occasion of a feast or an anniversary is definitely a tribute to the ruling ideology and is intended to please the authorities of the day. However, "festive" or "calendar" literature has very old roots and traditions in our reality, reaching up to ritual prayers and sorcery. What is festive literature, what are its manifestations? Have valuable literary works been created in that context? Literary critics Hayk Hambardzumyan and Arkmenik Nikoghosyan are debating these issues.
